Bengaluru: Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday said that those arrested for going on a rampage at Padarayanapura in the city on Sunday night, will also be booked under disaster management Act. The required permissions are being taken from the magistrate.

Bommai said “54 people have been arrested in relation to the incident, while five others have been secured. The arrest procedures are being completed and those who have gone at large will be apprehended soon”.

Bommai said a high-level investigation is being concucted under the leadership of Additional Police Commissioner Soumendu Mukherjee.

The ruckus was created after a person died of Coronavirus. Till then the situation was normal. The mob which went loose, assaulted policemen, health workers and also BBMP personnel.

Mincing no words, Bommai said “We will show the people the capacity of the police department. We will show what’s sealed down and quarantine and other measures taken by the government”.
